About Scotland Weddings
Planning a wedding in Scotland involves a particular set of complications that generic wedding advice doesn't cover — long travel distances between venues and guest accommodation, weather that can turn a garden ceremony indoors with a day's notice, legal paperwork with its own deadlines and quirks, and a genuinely huge range of venue types, from city-centre hotels to remote island estates reachable only by ferry.
Scotland Weddings exists to make that easier to navigate. We bring together a directory of real Scottish venues and suppliers, straightforward planning guides, and practical advice — in one place, without the sponsored-content noise that crowds out a lot of wedding-planning content elsewhere.
What we do
- A growing directory of real Scottish wedding venues — castles, hotels, barns, country estates and self-catering lodges — each linking directly to the venue's own official site.
- A directory of real Scottish suppliers — photographers, caterers, florists, cars, entertainment, hair and makeup, cakes and stationery — verified against their own websites before we list them.
- Original planning guides covering the practical questions couples actually ask: timelines, budgeting, the legal requirements for marrying in Scotland, choosing a venue and a date, and guest-list logistics.
What we don't do
We don't run any of the venues or suppliers listed on this site, and we don't take bookings, payments or reservations through it. Every listing links out to the business's own website for availability, pricing and booking. Where we link to Booking.com for accommodation search, that's clearly marked, and it's a genuine search tool, not a booking we process ourselves.
Keeping it honest
We verify venues and suppliers are real, currently operating businesses before listing them — not just trusting an old directory entry. Ratings and reviews we show are pulled from Google's own data, not written by us. If something on this site is wrong or out of date, let us know and we'll fix it.
